Energies up 32% on a year-over-year basis | John Chang

"As we came into the inflation cycle, the Fed kept saying, “This is temporary. It’s going to go down. It is supply chain-related.” They shifted their stance and said, “It’s a little worse than we thought. It’s going to be longer than we thought.” They are still saying, “By the second half of 2022, we should have this back under control.” That might be a little optimistic. If you look at the underlying drivers, you have wage growth at about 5.5%, energies up 32% on a year-over-year basis, home prices are up to 15.5%, and construction is 17.5%. Producer Price Index came out and it’s up 11.2% on a year-over-year basis."
